SAINTS staged a number of events in the months leading up to leaving Knowsley Road - but the curtain raiser to the Castleford game in September 2010 was certainly a popular one.
Nostalgia was thick in the air when a Saints legends side coached by Alex Murphy and featuring former captains Chris Joynt and Paul Sculthorpe narrowly lost to the club’s Academy select side in the pre-match tag rugby game.
How many of those former Saints can you recognise?
The Academy side featured a guest appearance from long-standing supporter and former kitman Bill Bates.
As the past players did their lap of honour, taking the applause from the Knowsley Road faithful one final time, while legend Murphy spent 15 minutes signing countless autographs on his slow walk back to the tunnel.
Murphy was stopped yards away from the spot where he famously scored the controversial match winning try in the 1966 Challenge Cup quarter final against Hull KR.
