A PERSONAL trainer and former model's dream to be the cover girl of a well-known magazine has moved one step closer.

Samantha 'Sami Lou' Adamson had been shortlisted to be on the cover of Inked magazine.

Inked is a popular tattoo and lifestyle magazine and is on the hunt for its Cover Girl of 2021.

Sami Lou, originally from Haydock and now who lives in Parr, had sent in a submission for the contest which sees entries from across the world.

The personal trainer, who has been sharing videos on her YouTube channel to help others during the coronavirus pandemic, was delighted to get a response that she had been shortlisted for the $25,000 prize.

Since votes went live last month, Sami has progressed through the 'groups stage'.

She got through each of the stages as her group was cut from top 15, to the top 10, then the top five and now she has emerged as the eventual winner to move on to the quarter-finals.

Votes are now reset from zero again for the quarter-finals.

This then happens again for the semi-finals next week and then the final.

Mum-of-two Sami Lou, who featured in Star articles about modelling work a decade ago, says being published in the magazine would be a dream come true.

"I have always wanted to be published as a model and haven't done modelling for years," she said.

"It would be massive."
