HERE are details of five cases heard at Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Magistrates’ Court.

- A 21-YEAR-OLD man accused of making threats will face a trial.

Leon Ellison, of Brynn Street, St Helens is charged with using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment or distress on June 3, 2020.

Ellison pleaded not guilty.

He was given unconditional bail and will appear back at the court on August 4 for a trial.

- A MAN who caused criminal damage to a mobile phone has been given a community order and made to pay compensation.

Jason Thornley, of Medway Court, Parr pleaded guilty to damaging a mobile phone on November 22.

Thornley, 20, was given a community order and must do up to 25 days of rehabilitation activity and take part in a Building Better Relationships programme.

He must also do up to 40 hours of unpaid work and was given a restraining order.

He was also made to pay £370 in compensation, a £95 surcharge and £85 in costs to the CPS.

- A MAN who drove an electric mobility scooter in excess of the alcohol limit and was found in possession of cocaine has been sentenced.

Lee Crehan, of Phoenix Brow, St Helens drove the vehicle on December 10 last year on Fleet Lane, Parr with 106 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath, nearly three times the driving limit.

He also had cocaine in his possession and pleaded guilty to both offences.

Crehan, 32, was given an eight-week electronic curfew and must do up to 20 days of rehabilitation activity.

He was made to pay a £95 surcharge and £85 in costs to the CPS and was banned from having a driving licence for three years.

He was given no separate penalty for the drugs offence.

- A DRINK driver was fined and banned from the road for a year.

Richard Peter Lowe, of Siddeley Drive, Newton-le-Willows admitted to driving a vehicle on Penkford Lane, Burtonwood with 52 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath in his system.

Lowe, 39, was fined £200, made to pay a £34 surcharge and £85 in costs to the CPS and disqualified from driving for 12 months.

- A 27-YEAR-OLD man who pleaded guilty to an assault has been given a restraining order.

Jamie Ryan McCabe, of Gaskell Street, Parr admitted to assaulting a male on New Year’s Day and causing criminal damage to a coat.

He was given a restraining order for two years. He was also fined £160, made to pay a £34 surcharge and £85 in costs to the CPS.

He was also made to pay £60 compensation for the criminal damage offence, making a total of £339.
