SAINTS have issued a notice to members following yesterday's Betfred Super League announcements regarding the length of the season and the Round 1 fixture.

The opening 'home' fixture against Salford will now be played behind closed doors at Headingley, and the 2021 Betfred Super League season will now be played over 25 Rounds including the Magic Weekend.

This will mean that the season will consist of 12 home matches rather than the 13 that was originally scheduled when Memberships were put on sale.

The club statement reads: "This means that 2021 Members will be automatically eligible for a refund for this lost fixture in addition to the Round 1 fixture against Salford Red Devils that will be played behind closed doors – two fixtures in total.

"This refund eligibility will also apply to any further home fixtures that are played behind closed doors after Round 1 in 2021, as stated in our terms and conditions

here, but the Club is hopeful that this will be minimal, however this is still very much an unknown.

"The Club will commence refunds for all 2021 Members for these two fixtures from the 14th April.

"Any subsequent games missed in addition to these two will be refunded at a later date that will be communicated once the total number of additional missed fixtures is known.

"The Club will be able to provide more information on this following the Governments scheduled announcement on the easing of restrictions planned for the week commencing 22nd February.

"We, as a Club, share your frustrations with us having to undertake this process but the Club is limited to what we can deliver in terms of our ticketing systems and uncertainty around what is to follow with fans returning to stadia."

They will publish details soon of how games behind closed doors can be streamed for free via the OurLeague app.

They say that members, who have yet to renew their Membership for 2021, can still do so at the same prices as originally stated, with the refund for lost games then processed at a later date in line with the above schedule.

"This is to ensure consistency of pricing and the administration around Memberships and refunds.

"We can reassure all Members that all games not played or played behind closed doors will be eligible for a full refund," they said.

The Club’s dedicated ticketing hotline has now been extended to answer all of your 2021 Membership queries and renewals…

This service is now available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 10am-3pm (commencing from 15th Feb, until further notice) by calling 01744 455052 or Members can email for queries and assistance.

They conclude: "We would again like to thank all our loyal fans and Members for their support, patience and understanding at a time when the situation and the restrictions around the Pandemic are still changing, but are hopefully trending towards a timely return to fans at the Totally Wicked Stadium."
