ST HELENS residents are now able to book their Covid-19 vaccination at one of two community pharmacy sites in the borough.

Taylors Pharmacy (part of Hollowood Chemists) in Haydock and Allied Pharmacies in Bold have both joined the NHS Covid-19 vaccination programme with community pharmacists now vaccinating patients.

This gives people further options of where to book their vaccine appointment as the NHS works hard to vaccinate all people in the first four priority groups by the middle of February.

Eligible residents in St Helens who receive a letter from the NHS inviting them to book their vaccination online or by phone can choose from a range of options across the region including the mass vaccination site at Saints or a pharmacy site and GP practices are also inviting people to their GP-led vaccination clinics which continue to vaccinate around 1000 people each day.

The NHS is currently vaccinating people in priority group 4 which is the over 70s and people who are clinically extremely vulnerable as well as continuing to vaccinate frontline health and care workers.

Patients attending the Allied Pharmacies site today for their vaccine today praised the set up:

Ann Kelly said: "It was absolutely perfect - I can't fault anything. I booked it online and the pharmacy was the nearest site to me. They were very friendly and made you feel relaxed so you weren't nervous about anything. And very informative as well, so I didn't leave with questions. I would 100 per cent recommend it."

Stephen Gaskell added: "It was an excellent experience. Everything was straightforward, quick and simple - no problems whatsoever. Getting the vaccine is so worthwhile."

When you are contacted please ensure you book an appointment - the vaccine will give you the best protection against coronavirus.
