Jack's Supermarket donated breakfast supplies and lunch time snacks to St Augustine of Canterbury and St Bartholomew Primary School to help children start their day the right way.

Following the new restrictions and schools closing, many children are now being home schooled, but for those whose parents are key workers they can still attend school.

Jack's on Four Acre Lane, donated plenty of breakfast food including cereal, long life milk, tinned fruit, fruit juice, pancake mix, jams, breakfast bars and more to both schools to help parents, families and teachers who are working incredibly hard during this difficult lockdown period.

Karl Van DerLaan, store manager of Jack's St Helens, said: "Since last March, Jack's has continuously given back to the local community as we always try to put our customers at the heart of everything we do. It's a tough time for everyone right now but especially parents, so we hope this provides a little relief for families."

Also this week, whilst collecting their essentials, St Helens residents were randomly selected to win a Jack’s monetary voucher, ready to spend on their next essential shop to help lighten the January blues of Blue Monday.

Michael Bate, Assistant Headteacher at St Augustine of Canterbury School, said: "A huge thank you to Jacks supermarket for the kind donation of food and drinks today."
