A MAN was given a suspended prison sentence for a burglary at Eccleston Park Golf Club.
Leslie Finney, of Leslie Road, Grange Park, pleaded guilty at Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Magistrates’ Court to burglary.
Finney, 44, admitted to entering a building at Eccleston Park Golf Club in Rainhill as a trespasser on July 7, 2020 with intent to steal.
He was committed to a 12-week prison sentence, suspended for 18 months.
Finney was given an electronic curfew for 12 weeks.
The court also ordered the 44-year-old must have treatment for drug dependency.

Finney must comply with any instructions of a responsible officer to attend rehabilitation appointments or participate in any activity for up to a maximum of 20 days.
Finney was also given a two-week consecutive suspended sentence, suspended for 18 months for failing to surrender to custody at Merseyside Magistrates’ Court on December 17 after having been bailed on November 19.
Finney was also ordered to pay £500 in compensation.
Eccleston Park Golf Club closed in 2018. Plans have been submitted to create around 1,000 homes on the land.
