ELEVEN neighbours are celebrating after each winning £50,000 each on the People's Postcode Lottery.

Their postcode, WA11 7HG, was announced as a winner with the lottery on Saturday, December 5.

The winners found out how much they’d won over a video call with People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Judie McCourt.

Married couple Julie and Kevin Hughes each play with a ticket and so scooped £100,000 between them.

When Judie revealed their cheques, the couple jumped for joy.

NHS worker Julie said: "Woah! Oh my God! He (Kevin) is jumping up and down! That is fantastic. That is absolutely mind blowing.

"Kiss me Kevin! I can get a new kitchen, yay! My sons will be getting a bit, and we will have a fantastic Christmas."

Kevin added, "I want a new shed, a big 'un! I can't even think how to spend this amount of money. You don't think you're ever going to win like this."

Julie added: "My heart is coming out my chest! This is life-changing. It's been a tough year but now we can get whatever we want for Christmas.

"We've had three holidays cancelled so we can hopefully take our grandsons to Florida next year. That would be magical."

Julie and Kevin are certainly playing in the right postcode, with them both winning last year when players in WA11 7 shared £3 million.

Julie said: "Last year we won £1,500 each. It's fabulous to win again! I treated everyone and gave it all away though. I had my hair done, that was it."

Another winner is Andrew Dickinson, who works for an engineering company, who not long ago moved away from the area.

He said: "I've just recently moved to a new house so changed my postcode; however, it won't take effect until January, so this is very lucky to win my last draw here."

When he saw how much he'd won he was overwhelmed. He said, "Oh my God. That is unbelievable. This will really help."

He joked, "I'll just tell my daughter it's £1,500 and keep the rest!"

Like Julie and Kevin, Andrew also won a share of £3 million last year.

He said, "I'll probably keep playing in my old postcode now. If lightning can strike twice it can strike a third time. It's absolutely fabulous."

After the call Judie McCourt said, "Wow, how lucky are St Helens players?! I'm sending the biggest congratulations to them all for winning yet again, this time a lot more! I hope they all have a lovely Christmas treating their family and friends."
