THIS was the scene earlier today after a van got stuck under a railway bridge.

The vehicle got stuck at the bridge on Alder Root Lane, between Vulcan Village and Winwick, at 12.40pm today, Thursday, December 3.

Police were called to the scene to deal with the incident.

A police spokeswoman said: "Officers were called at around 12.40pm today (Thursday, December 3) following reports of a Ford Transit box van striking a bridge on Alder Root Lane.

"The road was closed for a short time while the vehicle was recovered.

"No injuries were reported."
