A CANNABIS farm was found at an address in Whiston after a drugs suspect was arrested at Manchester Airport.

Officers charged a 27-year-old-man with multiple drugs offences after he was arrested at Manchester Airport yesterday morning (Wednesday, December 2).

Jack Stanley Jones, 27, from Huyton, was arrested after he landed at Manchester Airport at around 10am.

Along with Greater Manchester Police (GMP), Targeted officers from Merseyside Police made the arrest. Three mobile phones, cash and an iPad were also seized as part of the investigation.

Jones was kept in custody overnight and later charged with the following:

  • Conspiracy to Supply a Class A Controlled Drug - Cocaine
  • Conspiracy to Supply a Class A Controlled Drug – Heroin
  • Conspiracy to Supply a Class A Controlled Drug – MDMA
  • Conspiracy to Supply a Class B Controlled Drug – Cannabis
  • Conspiracy to Supply a Class B Controlled Drug - Methamphetamine
  • Importation of a Class A controlled drugs into UK
  • Importation of a Class B controlled drug into UK
  • Conspiracy to produce cannabis
  • Conspiracy to convert criminal property

He appeared at Liverpool Magistrates' Court this morning (Thursday, December 3) and will appear at the Crown Court on Friday.

The arrest and consequent charge follows an investigation into the importation of drugs to the UK.

A further search of a property was conducted at an address in Whiston where a commercial cannabis farm was found.

A police Cannabis Dismantling Team are dealing with the seizure and clean-up at the property.

Chief Inspector Phil Mullally said: “The investigation is ongoing and further details will be released when we can.
