A WOULD-BE burglar fled after being disturbed by a neighbour during an overnight attempted break-in.
Police were alerted to an attempted burglary at around 12.45am today (Wednesday, December 2).
The occupier of a house on Bobbies Lane, Eccleston reported they had disturbed "an unknown male" in their garden.
The man made off from the scene after being disturbed.
Police say it is believed he may have been in the company of two others at the time.

A Merseyside Police spokeswoman said: "The occupier of the house discovered minor damage to the rear door of the property but nothing was stolen.
"A search of the garden and surrounding area was carried out."
The Star has reported on a burglary and an attempted break-in in Eccleston in recent days.
Police said it is too early to say at this stage if the attempted burglary overnight is linked to the other incidents
