A WOULD-BE burglar fled after being disturbed by a neighbour during an overnight attempted break-in.

Police were alerted to an attempted burglary at around 12.45am today (Wednesday, December 2).

The occupier of a house on Bobbies Lane, Eccleston reported they had disturbed "an unknown male" in their garden.

The man made off from the scene after being disturbed.

Police say it is believed he may have been in the company of two others at the time.
