Community Policing Chief Inspector Paul Holden said: “We’re appealing for information following two incidents in Eccleston in the early hours of Saturday and would ask anyone with information to get in touch. We are working to establish whether the incidents are linked, and are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen or heard any suspicious behaviour, or has CCTV or dashcam footage which could assist our enquiries.

“Officers will continue to provide reassurance to the local community while gathering information and patrols will be stepped up in residential and business areas in the run up to Christmas.

“Many burglaries can be prevented by taking very simple measures such as ensuring all windows and doors are locked, even when at home. Residents are also encouraged to remove keys from doors once they are locked and keep them at a distance from letterboxes, and keep valuables out of sight.

“Burglary can leave a lasting impact of the lives of those affected, particularly during the festive period, and through Operation Castle, we will continue to purse offenders and put them before the courts.
