AS we look ahead to the end of 2020, the Star is planning a special feature reflecting on a year like no other.

2020 saw the world stand still. A virus spread across the globe and our lives had to alter in a bid to stop it spreading further.

We've witnessed two national lockdowns, a tier system, communities finding themselves again in time of crisis and our medical and care staff rightly being applauded for how they help so many in our town.

The pandemic has seen a lot of pain.

Thousands have died and businesses have suffered – but it has also seen a town come together through adversity and communities find safe ways to help those in need.

We're asking readers to help shape our review of the year.

In the first instance, we are asking people to share pictures, tributes, and messages to loved ones who they have lost due to the pandemic.

Below is a contribution box. It is there to act as a book of remembrance to those in St Helens, Newton-le-Willows and Prescot who have died as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Tributes will be considered for inclusion in a special feature of the St Helens Star next month.
