STAR readers have shared their condolences after the family of Audrey Williams spoke of how much she will be missed.

Audrey, 63, from St Helens, died on Thursday, November 19 following the collision on Bickerstaffe Street, St Helens which happened at 10.55am.

She died of her injuries in hospital.

The driver of the bus stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries.

Audrey’s family said: “Audrey will be sadly missed by her loving partner Stephen and their families.”

The community have sent condolences to Audrey's family following the news.

Angela Jerram said: "I knew Audrey when we were kids, my brother used to say she was a better footballer than all the lads put together! A tomboy who grew up into a lovely, friendly lady. RIP Audrey, condolences to her family X"

Helen Grimshaw added: "I recognise her from coming into Iceland. She was always so lovely and smiling. She will be missed. Rest in Peace Audrey"

Judith Critchley said: "Such sad news. Rest in peace Audrey. I remember Audrey from working in the Abbey many years ago. Condolences to all the family"

Emma Jones added: "So sad, I knew Audrey from when I worked at Buzbys and more recently she lived in the street next to me and I would see her going to the shop and have a little chat. Such a lovely lady.

"Thinking of Ste and family and also the driver."

Susie Sedgwick said: "I think a lot of people seem to remember Audrey from different places about the town.

"She used to always come to my till in Morrison’s and only last week I saw her in Asda. Lovely woman. Deepest sympathy to her family. She was obviously a well loved person."

David Andrew Burrows added: "Awful. Thoughts go out to her family and friends. I hope the driver is getting the help he needs also"
