REMEMBRANCE Day is just weeks away but with commemorative events cancelled due to the pandemic and restrictions the occasion will be marked differently this year.

Your St Helens Star wants to help honour those who have served their country during wars and conflicts.

The Remembrance Sunday ceremonies that annually draw huge crowds in St Helens and Earlestown will not be taking place, so the Star is seeking to pay tribute to those who fought in the First and Second World Wars and other more recent conflicts.

We would like you to let us know about the relatives who you are proud of and share their stories for a special in-paper supplement we will be producing ahead of Remembrance Sunday.

To take part, all you need to do is use the contact form below to send in a photograph, preferably in uniform, of your loved one with the following details:

  • Their name
  • The area they are/were from
  • Their age now (if they are still alive) and age when they served if that is known
  • Please also let us know what war they served in and their area of responsibility.

Any other information you can share – such as any particular battle they were involved in, if they were honoured for their bravery or simply how inspirational they have been to you – would also be welcome.
