A WOMAN from Prescot has been arrested on suspicion of being drunk in charge of a motor vehicle and then of assaulting a detention officer.
Officers arrested a 40-year-old woman on Thursday morning (October 15) after being called to Prescot Park Way.
Shortly after 5am officers attended reports of a Silver Ford having been abandoned in the road with its lights on.
Officers say they found a drunk woman attempting to get the vehicle started.

A roadside breath test was conducted and the suspect was taken into custody as part of the investigation.
While she was in custody a detention officer was allegedly assaulted after being pushed, which caused them minor injuries.
The suspect remains in custody.
