PLANS have been drawn up seeking to create eight homes on land formerly used as a wastewater treatment plant.

Proposals have been submitted to the council requesting permission for eight new detached and semi-detached houses and associated parking and landscaping works on the site of the former Bold Heath Waterworks on Warrington Road.

A design and access statement says: "The site is a 0.40 Ha (one ac) brownfield piece of land formerly occupied by United Utilities. The site was used as a wastewater treatment plant until it was redundant and sold in early 2012".

It adds: "Both the operations building and the storage tanks lacked any architectural interest and have been demolished and the site cleared.

"Neighbouring the site to the west, lays Bold Heath Equestrian Centre".

The proposed houses are detached and semi-detached, with two and a half stories.

The ground floors would "accommodate a lounge, a small toilet and open plan kitchen and dining with ancillary storage.

"The first floor will accommodate the master suite with dressing room and en-suite bathroom and one bedroom with en-suite shower room.

"The second floor will accommodate two bedrooms, a family bathroom and storage space. Careful consideration has been given to the internal layouts, so they provide generous accommodation in high quality spaces, while making the most of the orientation and views".

A determination deadline on plans has been set for November 27.
