POLICE and PCSOs handed out six traffic offence reports to HGVs parking on the pavements in Haydock last night after reports from residents.
Residents near to the Amazon and Kelloggs warehouses at Florida Farm in Haydock have reported regular issues with heavy goods vehicles using their neighbourhood.
Community Policing Inspector Matt Drennan: “This action was taken due to numerous complaints from local residents and businesses. These HGVs have been causing obstructions for the community by parking illegally in residential areas and on pavements, and hopefully this will bring the issue to a close. If not, we will continue to take action.
“Pavement parking causes danger, upset and inconvenience and we work closely with partners in the borough and alongside the Merseyside Road Safety Partnership (MRSP) to tackle such problems.”
MRSP work with partners all across Merseyside to save lives on our roads.
