PLANS seeking permission to convert a former florists into a cafe have been withdrawn.

Proposals were submitted for a change of use of the former Donna's Florist premises on Marshalls Cross Road.

A planning application has been received by the council which seeks to convert the premises at 63 Marshall Cross Road.

The application stated "the development is located next to an existing car wash, therefore the current background noise will not be affected by the cafe operation".

It added "the cafe is of a small scale, therefore should have little to no impact on the surrounding area".

Proposed opening hours for the premises were 9am to midnight each day.

The plans received one letter of objection from a resident, who expressed concerns over the proposed opening hours saying this would lead to noise issues "in an evening and into the night".

They also cited worries over people congregating outside, litter and parking and how this would "impact on the lives of residents".

In a decision notice, the council planning department confirmed the proposals has been withdrawn.

A correspondence with the applicant asked them to speak with the case officer over any amendments should they wish to resubmit.
