THE police seizure of a gun and the arrest a man following a raid at a house in Warrington is linked to an investigation in St Helens.
Detectives from Merseyside swooped at the property on Henshall Avenue, Latchford, at around 8am yesterday, Thursday, to carry out an arrest warrant.
The warrant is in connection with an ongoing investigation in the St Helens area.
A converted Olympus firearm was seized and a 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and section 18 wounding.
He remains in custody for questioning.
Residents reported a large police presence in the area, with a number of police vans and the crime investigation unit in attendance.
