HERE are details of five cases which have been recently heard at Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Magistrates' Court.

  • A MAN who assaulted a woman and damaged a coffee table and car windscreen has been given a community order.

Michael Howarth, of Baker Street, Fingerpost, pleaded guilty to a charge of assault and of criminal damage.

He damaged a coffee table and car windscreen belonging to a woman on May 26. He also assaulted the woman on May 27.

Howarth, 35, was sentenced to a community order. He must participate in a Building Better Relationships programme for 29 days.

He must also undertake up to 15 days of rehabilitation activity and carry out 60 hours of unpaid work over the next 12 months.

Howarth was ordered to pay £95 to fund victim services and £85 in costs to the CPS, making a total of £180.

  • A TWENTY-SEVEN-YEAR-OLD man has denied a series of thefts he is alleged to have committed between last December and February.

Adam Williamson, of Axbridge Avenue, Sutton Leach pleaded not guilty to five charges of theft.

Williamson is accused of stealing confectionary and coffee items to the value of £31 at the Co-Op on Elton Head Road on December 8, 2019.

He is also charged with the theft of £94.29 worth of confectionary and coffee items from the Co-Op store on December 15.

Williamson is also charged with stealing £57.70 worth of items from the shop on January 2.

The 27-year-old is also accused of stealing £109 of meat from Marks and Spencer at Ravenhead Retail Park on February 6 and of stealing £180.68 of meat items from the M&S shop on February 23.

Williamson will face a trial on the charges scheduled for November 17 at Sefton Magistrates' Court. He has been given conditional bail until then.

  • A MAN who stole deodorant from Wilkinsons will be sentenced in October.

Stuart James Clarke, of North Road, St Helens, indicated a guilty plea to stealing deodorant from the shop on September 11.

Clarke, 37, has been given unconditional bail as the case was adjourned for a pre-sentence report to be made. He will be sentenced on October 22.

  • A MAN who admitted to an assault was given a conditional discharge.

Eusebiu Burlacu, a Romanian national, pleaded guilty to an assault on September 6 at a property in Peasley Cross.

Burlacu, of no fixed address, was given a conditional discharge for 12 months, meaning he will not be sentenced for the assault unless a further offence is committed within the stated period.

Burlacu, 44, was also made to pay a £22 surcharge to victim services and £85 in costs to the CPS, making a total of £107. His guilty plea was taken into account upon sentencing.

  • A TWENTY-FOUR-YEAR-OLD man will appear at the Crown Court after denying charges including affray and assault.

Adam Wilson, of Francis Street, Bold pleaded not guilty to affray in connection to an alleged incident in Sutton August 16. he also pleaded not guilty to possessing a knife in public and threatening another person with it.

Wilson also denied a charge of assault on a woman.

The case was sent to Liverpool Crown Court where Wilson will next appear on Friday, October 2.

He was remanded into custody.
