PLANS to turn a former Chester bank branch into a Mediterranean hot food takeaway have been given the green light.

The change of use proposal for the building on Christleton Road, Great Boughton, was approved by Cheshire West and Chester Council this week.

The former Lloyd's branch has been vacant since early 2019.

The takeaway business, which is not named in the planning documents, will be open seven days a week between the hours of 7am and 11pm weekdays, 9am until 11pm on Saturdays, and 10am until 11pm on Sundays and Bank Holidays.

The application, submitted on behalf of the applicant by Civitas Planning Ltd, states that the unit will have two full-time employees.

It adds: "The site will have the facility for hot food preparation and will be equipped with modern day standard odour, grease and noise prevention measures."

The application was granted planning approval subject to a number of conditions, including the hours of operation and a scheme being put in place for the installation of equipment to control the emission of fumes and odour from the premises.
