POLICE have given an update on their investigation after a haul of weapons, including a meat cleaver were found after officers stopped a car.
Officers in the local Targeted Team discovered a hammer, knife and a meat cleaver after pulling over the vehicle on Pennine Close in Broad Oak on Monday at 7.30pm.
The car, as well as the three men inside it, all in their 30s, were searched.
Officers arrested three men on suspicion of possessing offensive weapons.
One suspect was also arrested on suspicion of drug driving.
They were taken to custody to be questioned.

A police spokeswoman confirmed that all three suspects have been released under investigation until October 20.
After the arrests, Inspector Rob Budden said: “Pre-planned warrants as well as proactive policing amplifies our presence in St Helens and allows us to target those we already know about or are investigating in addition to catch criminals who may not yet be on our radar."
