TWO pink 'unicorns' were seen walking around Rainford on Sunday as part of a 'Race for Life' with a difference.
Nicola Higgins and mother and daughter Christine and Abbie Morris took on a 5k trek around Rainford alongside their two Shetland ponies Isobel and Vera decked out in pink.
Nicola, 31, Christine, 50 and Abbie, 17 walked the route with the ponies in hand on Sunday, September 20 to mark Race for Life.
They wore pink colour-themed fancy dress as per Race for Life tradition, as did their ponies.
Vera is the pony of Nicola's two-year-old daughter Lilly and Isobel belongs to Abbie, with both sharing the same yard in Rainford.

Before the event, Nicola said: "My mum has taken part in race for life for the past four years but unfortunately this year she is unable to so myself and Vera will be taking her place.
"I will run the 5k on September 25 as well as the Shetlands 5k walk out on September 20".
Christine added: "I lost my brother and my dad to cancer so this cause is very important to me and my family."
Daughter Abbie said: "I am doing this 5k in honour of my grandad who died of cancer when I was 7 years old, even though I didn’t get to spend much time with him he was still able to have a big impact on my life and he lives on in our memories."
The pink-coloured group started on Whitehouse Lane and travelled around the village before ending up back where they started.
Nicola said: "Isobel was originally my pony and we are all on the same yard in Rainford. My daughter is now two so we thought who doesn't like pink unicorns! It's probably something people haven't thought of before.
"After a year where vital cancer trials have been delayed, the Race for Life is more important than ever.
"That's why I'll be taking part in a Very 2020 Race for Life. Every pound you can donate will go towards Cancer Research UK’s ground-breaking work. We won’t let 2020 stop us."
After the event, Nicola added: "It was fantastic, the ponies were so well behaved, they looked amazing and everyone loved seeing us and stopping to donate and give them a pat along the way.
"We've raised more than £600 and there are still a few donations coming in."
