COMMUNITY cafe Momo's has announced it is to temporarily close for a week after local lockdown rules were unveiled today.
Momo's, on Westfield Street, St Helens closed its doors at the beginning of lockdown in March, and only reopened when it was safe to do so, with measures in place.
However with the Government's announcement that Merseyside has stricter restrictions due to the number of coronavirus cases, Momo's is set to close once again.
Announcing the news via social media, co-owner Claire Rigby, said: "After the news today of a local lockdown in St Helens and surrounding areas, myself and Colin have made the decision to close the shop completely next week from Tuesday.
"We want to do our bit to stop the spread of the virus by staying closed, because of the spike we need to keep our most vulnerable safe, we’ve worked extremely hard in keeping everywhere successfully Covid safe.
"We will be spending the week having another complete deep clean all the way through the shop and catch up on some rest and do some planning for next year.
"Stay safe and keep washing your hands. See you on the 29th September."
