HERE are details of five recent cases which have been heard at Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Magistrates' Court or at Merseyside Youth Court.

  • A SIXTEEN-YEAR-OLD boy from Prescot admitted to possession of drugs and assaulting a police officer.

The boy, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, appeared at Merseyside Youth Court.

The teenager pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of cannabis and a charge of possession of cannabis resin. he had the Class B drugs in his possession on November 29, 2019.

He also pleaded guilty to an assault of a police officer on the same date.

The boy was referred to a youth offender panel for four months. He was also made to pay £50 compensation and a £16 surcharge to fund victim services, making a total of £66.

The court ordered for the drugs to be forfeited and destroyed.

The 16-year-old's guilty pleas were taken into account on sentencing.

  • A WOMAN who admitted to driving while being unfit through drugs has been banned from the road for a year.

Francesca Seldon, of Conroy Way, Newton-le-Willows, pleaded guilty to a charge of drug driving at Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Magistrates' Court.

Seldon, 43, drove a blue Nissan Qashqai on Vulcan Park Court, Newton-le-Willows, while under the influence of drugs.

She was fined £80, made to pay a £32 surcharge to victim services and £85 in costs to the CPS, making a total of £197.

She was also disqualified from driving for 12 months. Her guilty plea was taken into account.

  • A MAN who pleaded guilty to criminal damage and harassment has been sentenced.

Paul May, of Pennine Drive, Parr, pleaded guilty to two offences at Liverpool, Knowsley and Liverpool Magistrates' Court.

He admitted to criminal damage of a window at a property in Haydock belonging to a woman on January 31 this year.

He also pleaded guilty to conduct which amounted to harassment of a man in Haydock between January 19 and January 31 by sending a series of threatening and abusive messages on social media.

May was given a community order and given an electronic curfew for eight weeks. He was also made to pay £100 compensation and £85 in costs to the CPS, making £185.

His guilty pleas were taken into account.

  • A MAN will face trial after pleading not guilty to a charge of racially aggravated threats and behaviour.

David Dillon, of Ravenstone Drive, Sutton, appeared at Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Magistrates' Court.

Dillon, 40, is charged with racially aggravated threatening words or behaviour in relation to an alleged disturbance on May 8.

Dillon will face summary trial at a magistrates' court on the charge after pleading not guilty.

He has been given unconditional bail and is due to next appear at Wirral Magistrates' Court for trial on December 1.

  • A MAN has denied two counts of assault of a woman in court.

Andrew David Hibbert, of Kimberley Avenue, Thatto Heath, appeared at Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Magistrates' Court.

Hibbert, 40, is charged with an assaulting a woman at a property in Newton-le-Willows on May 22 and on July 3.

The 40-year-old denied both assault allegations and was given conditional bail until his scheduled trial.

Hibbert is due to appear back at the court on November 30.
