A MAN has appeared in court charged with making and possessing indecent images of children.
Andrew Ryan, of Upton Court, Widnes has been charged with making and possession of thousands of indecent photographs in St Helens.
Ryan, 55, appeared at Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Magistrates’ Court on five charges.
He is charged with making 934 Category A indecent photographs between February 1, 2005 and July 31, 2019.
He is also charged with making 789 Category B photographs and 19,431 Category C images between the same dates.
He is also charged with a separate offence of possession of 21,154 indecent photographs of children.
Ryan has also been charged with possession of seven prohibited images of children between April 1 and July 31, 2019.

The 55-year-old indicated guilty pleas to all charges.
He was given conditional bail and is due to appear at Liverpool Crown Court for sentence on Friday, September 25.
