TWO men have been charged after a car stolen in a house burglary crashed into parked vehicles.

A home on Knowsley Road, Eccleston was broken into overnight on Tuesday into Wednesday this week.

Police were called to reports of a burglary, in which electrical and other items were stolen at around 5am in the morning on Wednesday after the burglary was discovered

A Citroen C4 was also stolen from outside the property but this vehicle was recovered on Prescot Road, having reportedly collided with parked cars.

Following enquiries, two men were arrested by police in connection with the burglary. They have both since been charged with offences.

Liam Rigby, 19, of North Road, St Helens was charged with burglary of a dwelling and theft; and handling stolen goods.

Meanwhile, 27-year-old Nathan Murphy, of no fixed address, was charged with burglary dwelling and theft; handling stolen goods; and criminal damage.

Both men were remanded in custody and are due to appear at Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Magistrates' Court today (Thursday, September 17).
