A POPULAR cafe has announced when it will reopen its doors following a closure after a staff member tested positive for coronavirus.

On Friday last week (September 11) Toast Coffee House in Dentons Green announced in a statement on its social media accounts that it had closed temporarily after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19.

The statement said the member of staff had worked on Sunday, September 6, the only day they were on Toast premises during the previous two weeks.

The cafe said that, as per government guidelines, it would close to allow time for the team to be tested and to perform a deep clean of its premises.

The venue has now revealed the date it will reopen its doors to the public.

A statement issued on Wednesday said: "Toast will be open again from Friday, September 18!

"Apologies for shutting our doors but when a team member tested positive for COVID19 after annual leave, we decided to stay closed until the team members who had worked alongside them had also been tested for COVID. We are happy to say that everyone has tested negative so we now feel confident in re-opening and welcoming you back!

"We are truly humbled by the love and positive wishes our customers have sent to us, and hopefully you will show your appreciation for the efforts we have made to keep you and our team safe, by supporting a local business!

"Our team member and their family are well on the road to recovery!

"If you would like to reserve a table please email info@toast-cafe.co.uk. Walk-ins are also welcome.
