A SOCIAL club has reopened its doors after lockdown to showcase its latest refurbishments.

Parr Conservative and Workingmen's Club on Broad Oak Road reopened its doors after the lockdown to show its new look after a refurbishment.

The club underwent renovations during its closure.

The club says that £20,000 has been spent on the latest refurbishments at the venue.

Works ave included new toilet facilities upstairs and downstairs, with more than £40,000 having been spent on the club over the last 18 months, with two new bars at the venue.

The venue has become known for hosting snooker exhibitions with professionals including Steve Davis, Mark Allen and Cliff Thorburn among those to have appeared at the club in recent years.

The Star reported ahead of the club's reopening when a video was made by Only Fools and Horses actor John Challis, in his character role of Boycie, which announced the venue's return.
