Police arrested a 39-year-old man after an appeal
A 39-YEAR-OLD man who was arrested in connection with a serious attack has been released on conditional bail.
A suspect, Newton-le-Willows, was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent following a police appeal for information.
Detectives had said they were keen to trace a suspect, originally from the St Helens area, in connection with an attack in Bootle on Monday, June 22.

Police had arrested a man at the weekend in connection with the assault and he was being questioned by detectives.
A Merseyside Police spokesman said the suspect has been granted conditional bail until Tuesday, September 29.
