POLICE say they were called to a park to reports of concern for safety of a man.
Residents reported seeing a police presence at Willow Park, Newton-le-Willows at around 5pm on Thursday, August 13.
People also reported seeing ambulance in the vicinity.
A police spokeswoman has explained the force's presence in the park, off Southworth Road.
She said they were called to reports of concern for safety of a man.
The man was found and then taken to hospital, she added.
A Merseyside Police spokeswoman said: "In relation to Willow Park (there) was concern for safety of a male.
"The male was located and taken to Whiston Hospital where he was left in the care of medical staff."
