A DRINK driver has been banned from the road for 17 months.

Anthony Martin Kenny, of Furness Avenue, Windlehurst, was also fined at Merseyside Magistrates’ Court for the offence.

Kenny, 37, was caught driving a BMW on Washway Lane, Haresfinch on April 26 this year with excess alcohol in his system.

Kenny pleaded guilty to a charge of drink driving.

He had 61 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres in his breath. This was in excess of the legal limit of 35 micrograms per 100 millilitres.

During his sentencing at the magistrates court, Kenny was £346 and he also has to pay a victim surcharge of £35, making a total of £381.

The 37-year-old was also banned from having a driving licence for 17 months. This will be reduce dby 17 weeks should Kenny complete a course approved by the Secretary of State.
