A SPEEDING driver told police he was just tired and wanted to get home.

Traffic officers pulled the vehicle over  close to junction eight near Burtonwood on the M62 around midnight this morning, Monday.

Police say the driver failed to notice the marked police vehicle and continued at 90mph.

When spolen to by officers he said he was 'tired and just wanted to get home'.

He has been issued with a Traffic Offence Report (TOR).

A decision will be made later on whether he can attend a speed awareness course, is fined or sent a summons for court.

Earlier on Sunday evening a driver was given a TOR on the M6 near Lymm.

He was clocked between 85mph and 100mph.

He was also given advice about lane hogging in the outside lane of the motorway.
