MOTORISTS are being warned to expect severe delays after a smash on the M56 this morning.
Delays of up to an hour are expected after the accident which happened westbound.
Traffic is queueing for five miles.
One lane is closed while emergency services deal with the incident, which took place between junction 12 at Runcorn to 14 for Chester Services.
The motorists are out of their vehicle and so far no injuries have been reported.
It is affecting traffic towards Liverpool Airport, Frodsham, Runcorn, Widnes and Chester Services.
Lanes three and two are closed.
