A MAN who was arrested at a bingo hall on suspicion of having sexual communication with a child has been released under investigation, say police.
Police confirmed they attended Mecca Bingo on Kirkland Street, St Helens on Thursday night (July 30) and arrested a 28-year-old man.
The suspect was taken into custody for questioning.
After the arrest a Merseyside Police spokeswoman said: "We attended at Mecca Bingo on Kirkland Street in St Helens at 9pm last night, Thursday, July 30.
"A 28-year-old man from the St Helens area was arrested on suspicion of sexual communication with a child.
"He is currently in custody where he will be questioned by detectives."

She confirmed that the suspect has now been released under investigation.
The spokeswoman added there is no suggestion the alleged offence took place at the bingo hall, where the suspect was arrested.
