A MAN and a woman from St Helens are in hospital with serious injuries after a crash in Ribble Valley.
Lancashire Police were called around 2.05pm on Sunday, July 12 to reports of an incident in Lythe Fell Road in Slaidburn.
A 53-year-old man from St Helens had been riding a Kawasaki motorbike towards High Bentham when he fell from the vehicle suffering broken ribs.
A 42-year-old woman, also from St Helens, was a pillion passenger on the bike and fell suffering a serious back injury.
Both were taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment.
Police believe a dark-coloured BMW car, travelling towards Slaidburn, could have been involved in the incident.
The driver of the vehicle failed to stop at the scene.
Sgt Martin Wilcock, of Lancashire Police’s Tactical Operations Unit, said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened.
“We know this is a popular route with bikers and believe a large group of riders had just passed when the incident took place.
“I would urge the driver of the BMW to come forward and speak to us. If you can help please get in touch.”
Anyone with information can call 101 or email 365@lancashire.pnn.police.uk quoting log 0849 of July 12.
