SCOTTISH rockers The Snuts are looking forward to bringing live music back to Bolton when they step on to the stage at one of this summer’s unique series of drive-in gigs.

Promoter Live Nation has confirmed a host of acts including The Zutons, Ash, Dizzee Rascal, The Lightning Seeds and Gary Numan will all play at the ‘Utilita Live From The Drive-In’ events at the University of Bolton Stadium, with The Snuts joining the bill on Wednesday, August 12.

“I was very intrigued when I heard about it,” said frontman Jack Cochrane. “I like the thought of being one of the first bands to do it.

“It feels a bit historic and if someone has got to do it why not us?

“I like the idea of trying to manipulate it a bit and make our show a bit different in that environment so it works.

“We’re used to feeding off a crowd so it will be about trying to adapt our show and we are really up for it.”

With an avid and adoring fan base, The Snuts have been garnering a massive following in the UK with their Mixtape EP smashing into the charts last year – reaching number one in the Scotland and Vinyl Album Charts and number 14 in the UK official list.

Influenced by the likes of The Libertines and Artic Monkeys, their classic indie sound has seen them supporting Lewis Capaldi on his November UK dates and play a host of summer festivals.

“I think these drive in gigs will be really fresh and new,” said Jack.

“We are attracted by the challenge.

“There is no better way to challenge yourself as a band than playing to 300 cars!

“I think there will be a real feeling of togetherness that we can be around strangers and enjoy something again without the fear we have all been experiencing.”

Jack is hoping the band can return to the normal live circuit soon and said: “We need to shout out for those small venues that are struggling.”“Thankfully there is a good community out there who are helping each other. “Starting off as a band and playing those small venues are the times you cherish.”
