A WITTON Street pair who stole hundreds of pounds worth of meat from supermarkets across Northwich have walked free from court.
Charlotte Clayton and William Woodward, from the same address, both pleaded guilty to a string of thefts at Warrington Magistrates’ Court.
Clayton, 40, was handed a suspended four-month prison sentence after breaching a court order she already had imposed in March, after stealing meat worth £130 from Waitrose.
She took food worth £30 from Iceland on May 24, before stealing meat worth £150 from Sainsbury’s the following day, and meat worth £301.63 from Aldi on June 6.
Woodward, 35, also took £300 worth of meat from Aldi on June 6, four days after stealing electrical items worth £78 from Sainsbury’s on June 2.
He also stole meat from Tesco Express twice in the space of a week – taking food worth £44.50 on April 26 and £45 on May 3.

Woodward was handed a community order for rehabilitation by the court and ordered to pay both a £50 fine and a victim surcharge worth £95.
Clayton claims to work for Tesco on social media – although the supermarket was unable to confirm this when approached by the Guardian.
In prosecuting her again, the court ruled that she had shown a ‘flagrant disregard of court orders’ following her previous record.
She must also pay £481.63 in compensation for the stolen goods.
