FRIED chicken, a burger, a curry...or maybe just a loaf of bread...what tops the list for you when it comes to ordering food deliveries?

Well Deliveroo, the on-demand food delivery service, is marking its first birthday in St Helens with a look back at what locals have been eating during lockdown.

New data from Deliveroo reveals Friday at 7.19pm is the most popular time for St Helens locals to order Deliveroo.

And further information has shown Sintelliners enjoy American food the most, followed by Indian and Greek.

Most popular dishes ordered in St Helens during lockdown:

1. Boneless Banquet from KFC

2. Chicken Tikka Masala from the Shere Khan Restaurant

3. Bacon Double Cheese XL Meal from Burger King

4. Morrisons Medium White Loaf 800g from Morrisons

5. Chicken Gyros from The New Era Greeks

Since its launch in the town a year ago, more than 40 restaurants have signed up to the platform.

Deliveroo has created work for more than 70 people, with the majority of these being the riders who deliver food to the front door.

Deliveroo says it supports local businesses in St Helens, with 60 per cent of its restaurant partners being local independent restaurants, creating new revenue streams for homegrown culinary talent.

Harison Foster, Deliveroo UK regional director said: “Our whole team here at Deliveroo are delighted that our rapid growth in St Helens over the past year means that customers have more choice, restaurants are able to increase their revenue, and riders have opportunity to choose well-paid, flexible work.”
