POLICE chased down a suspect who tried to run away following a stop check of his car.
Officers were called to the area around Two Butt Lane, Rainhill on Monday evening after reports of anti-social behaviour.
In a tongue-in-cheek statement police suggested the driver had decided to go for a run and ditch his car keys.
But they pointed out that officers don't mind a run too.
A police statement read: "Officers attempted to speak to the driver of one vehicle who decided to quickly lock up his vehicle and go for a jog.
"Unfortunately for this male we also enjoy jogging. The male was detained a short distance away minus his car keys which he decided to throw."
Police released a picture of the car being loaded on to the back of a recovery vehicle.
They added that a 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of disqualified driving and driving without insurance.
