WE'RE all in the same boat when it comes to lockdown hair...

Whether you did a DIY chop or you've grown out your barnet during this pandemic, it is fair to say we're looking forward to the hairdressers reopening on July 4.

One of these hairdressers in St Helens excited about reopening their doors is Spectrum Hair, which is based on both Duke Street and in Haydock.

Owner Adele Clarke has put a number of measures in place to help protect her new and returning customers.

She said: "Like other hairdressers across the country, we are really excited to reopen and have been using lockdown to do more training online to ensure we know all the correct and up to date procedures on how to sterilise equipment.

"I want people to come to us, have a relaxing time, get their hair cut and know we've got their safety in mind.

"So as well as the disinfection training, we are also working with workstations two metre apart - despite the limits being lowered to one metre.

"All the gowns will be disposable also and our staff will have appropriate PPE on to protect them and you.

"We will be operating on appointment only, and will do our best to fit in all our customers, including opening late to allow our most at risk customers to come alone so they know they are safe.

"There will also be no waiting room option, people will be called five minutes before their appointment and they can enter the salon.

"We all want to welcome people back in a safety conscious way."
