ONE more coronavirus has been recorded in St Helens, official figures show.
Public Health England figures show that 762 people had been confirmed as testing positive for COVID-19 by 9am Thursday morning (June 18) in St Helens since the start of the outbreak.
This is up by one from 761 the same time on Wednesday.
A week before, there were 760 cases.
Cases have increased on a par with the rate across the UK over the 24-hour period.
St Helens' rate of infection stands at 423.2 people per 100,000.
Knowsley has now had 676 confirmed cases, a rate of 452 per 100,000.
They were among the 26,911 cases recorded across the North West, a figure which rose by 52 over the 24-hour period.
Cumulative case counts include patients who are currently unwell, have recovered and those that have died.
Across the UK, 300,469 people had tested positive for coronavirus as of 9am on Thursday, up from 299,251 at the same point on Wednesday, Department of Health and Social Care figures show. As of 5pm on Wednesday, 42,288 had died.
