DRAMATIC images have captured flashes of lightning during a huge storm that took hold in parts of the region tonight.
The lightning lit up the skies over Merseyside after 10pm in Saturday.
People have been taking to social media to share spectacular images and videos of the storm.
Photographer Steve Samosa took these pictures (below) of the storm as he looked out to fields in Rainhill.
