A CYCLIST has been left with serious injuries after being involved in a crash in Dunham Massey.

Police say that around 7.20am today officers were called to reports of a collision between a car and a bike on Dunham Road.

Initial enquiries revealed a Ford Tourneo Connect and blue bicycle had come into collision at the junction of Dunham Road, Paddock Lane and Warburton Lane.

A police spokesman said that the cyclist, a 42-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

And while it has been confirmed no arrests have been made over the incident, an investigation is now underway.

Sgt Matthew Picton, of GMP’s serious collision investigation unit, said: “This was a devastating collision which has left the cyclist with serious injuries. Our thoughts are with him and his loved ones.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the collision and I would appeal to anyone with information or dash cam footage which may assist us to contact us as soon as possible.”
