POLICE want to trace a man after a car and house were damaged in a suspected arson attack.

As the Star reported earlier this week, police and firefighters were called at 4am on Monday, May 18, to reports that a car was alight in the rear garden of a property in Lever Street, Clock Face.

Significant fire damage was caused to the car. The front door of the property was also damaged.

On Sunday detectives appealed to trace Christopher Lane, 29, who is originally from Whiston.

Lane is white, 5ft 8ins tall, with brown hair and hazel eyes.
