A THIEF has been spared an immediate jail term after receiving a suspended sentence.
John Barry Rolt, of Regent Street, Newton-le-Willows stole £46 of baby milk from a Co-Operative shop on Park Road South.
Rolt, 29, pleaded guilty at Merseyside Magistrates' Court.
A court sheet said a custodial sentence was passed due to Rolt's "offending history".
However, the sentence was suspended.
Rolt received a 16-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months.
