ST HELENS Council has appointed a new director of finance.
Asad Mushtaq will take up the role at St Helens Council this September.
He is currently head of finance and property at Burnley Borough Council and has previously worked as finance manager at Westminster City Council and as a senior accountant at Oldham Council and started his career at Reigate and Barnstead Borough Council.
Speaking on Mr Mushtaq's appointment the leader of St Helens Council, Cllr David Baines said: “Asad is joining our council at an incredibly important time as we look to support St Helens through the recovery from the financial implications of the coronavirus pandemic.
"He brings with him a wealth of experience and will be a vital part of the team as we look to reset the organisation through our One Council programme.
"Asad will also play a role in supporting our new partnership with English Cities Fund which offers us the chance to transform the borough.”
