SCHOOLCHILDREN have brought a smile to their classmates and teachers’ faces in a video telling them how much they’re being missed during the coronavirus lockdown.

Reception and Year One pupils from Davenham CE Primary School feature in a video montage which was organised and edited by parent Kerry Parry.

Kerry, whose children Chester, aged six, and Rex, aged five, attend the school said: “My boys are really missing being at school, seeing their friends and their teachers. This was a way for them to see their classmates and to thank their teachers.

“We just wanted to do something to make everybody smile.”

Each child was given a word to write and decorate, spelling out the message: “The Reception/Year One children would like to say hello to all of their friends and teachers and hope to see you all very soon. Team Davenham School 2020 stay home, stay safe.”

The video is accompanied by the Michael Jackson song Heal the World, and also features pictures of children holding rainbows.

Kerry, who lives in Moulton, added: “Staff at the school have been so fantastic, they’ve worked so hard to keep us all together as a community so we wanted to do something in return for them.

“I’ve had some lovely feedback from the teachers who said they’ve loved seeing their pupils and I know the children have enjoyed seeing each other too.”
