POLICE say that a suspected drug driver showed them a fake NHS ID card to justify being out on the road.
Officers stopped a vehicle in St Helens on Sunday night.
Police say the driver produced an NHS card as their reason for being out.
However, officer say the ID turned out to be fake.
Police conducted a drugs test and allege the suspect tested positive for cocaine.
Officers also say the vehicle had two tyres with tread less than 1.6mm.
The suspect was taken into custody.
